Jai Maa Kali! Chunky Pages

I just completed the art for 2 of the PAT chunky pages I am creating for a chunky swap on iATC.com each page is 4″x4″ and made of layers of paper and such (hence the term chunky)
The Kali was done on multiple layers of paper, her hair is on black velvet paper, her crown cut from rose gold origami paper, her face from 90lb sketch paper glued onto the rest, the back has a base of black pastel paper, with more origami paper and then a yantra made from the same 90lb sketch paper. I may chunk her up a bit more with some jewels & doodads and such. I’m gonna let her sit for a few and then figure it out.

The Kami Mizu (God/Spirit Water) was done in layers. The front bottom layer was a piece of scrap book paper which I drew back over and turned into a lake/ocean with a floating lotus. Then I took this really neat transparent interleaving paper and drew a sweet little water spirit/mermaid in a japanese style and then put her over the other page using diamond glaze to add more depth and texture as it gave the very delicate interleaf this awesome watery kind of texture.
On the back I mod podged papyrus to watercolor stock, and wrote the kanji for Kami Mizu and drew a tsunami with opaque markers and gel pens.
In addition I have already created a chunky of colorful dogs last week.
The swap is due Nov 27th. So I’d say I’m nicely on track!
At this point I still have a Taxi View of Coastal Maine, and Alice in Wonderland chunky left to do. It is possible we’ll have one more if someone else joins us.
And then I can really start working on Secret Art Santa in earnest!
